Fillonie's journey is filled with strength and resilience as she shares the time towards her due date when she knew "something was wrong".

"On 3rd January morning I was feeling very uneasy. There was no baby movement, nothing at all. I was scared and dull. I was feeling why is baby not kicking."

She shares that inspite of telling her family they brushed it aside and told her, "its okay for baby to quiet towards due date, it must be tired."

However on insisting on going to the gynecologist, she came to know that there is Placental Abruption - and baby is not getting enough oxygen and needs to be delivered immediately.  She also takes a deep dive into the topic of emergency C-section deliveries, exploring the emotions, challenges, and resilience that come with this unexpected turn of events.

"With a few moments of delay, I could have lost her", Fillonie shares.

Its a mother's worst nightmare and she explains what moms need to keep a watch on towards their due date and to always trust their mom instincts.

Emergency C-section - Why it happens?

Beyond the basics of C-section:

In the realm of childbirth, emergency C-section delivery can be an unexpected and sometimes necessary procedure. Understanding its purpose, risks, and recovery process is crucial for expectant mothers and their families. In this blog post, we will delve into the world of emergency C-sections, drawing on reputable sources such as WebMD to provide valuable insights and information. From the reasons that may lead to an emergency C-section to the recovery journey, we aim to equip you with the knowledge you need to navigate this unique childbirth experience.

What is an Emergency C-Section?

An emergency C-section, also known as an unplanned or urgent cesarean delivery, is a surgical procedure performed when unexpected complications arise during labor or delivery. These complications may endanger the health and well-being of the mother or baby, necessitating immediate intervention. Common reasons for emergency C-sections include fetal distress, placental abruption, umbilical cord complications, prolonged labor, and certain maternal medical conditions.

When considering an emergency C-section, it's essential to be aware of both the risks and potential benefits associated with the procedure. While the primary goal is to ensure the safety of the mother and baby, like any surgical intervention, an emergency C-section carries certain risks, such as infection, bleeding, blood clots, and longer recovery times compared to vaginal birth. However, it is important to note that an emergency C-section can also save lives and prevent further complications when time is of the essence.

Recovery and Postpartum Care after emergency C-section:

Recovering from an emergency C-section requires time, support, and proper self-care.The initial recovery period usually takes longer than with vaginal birth, as the body needs time to heal from the surgical incision.

  1. Pain management, rest, and gradually increasing physical activity are vital components of the recovery process.
  2. Additionally, emotional support, bonding with the baby, and seeking assistance with daily tasks can aid in a smoother transition into motherhood following an emergency C-section.
